Metabolomics Center

Metabolomics Center

The primary goal of the Metabolomics Centeris to identify and quantify small molecules (metabolites) from various resources including plants, animals, and human being. Multiple complementary analytical methods, primarily GC/MS and LC/MS which are funded through the generosity of the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust (http://www.carvertrust.org/), are utilized.

Users (both UIUC on-campus and off-campus) are encouraged to discuss their projects with the center staffs before using the services and instrumentation in their experimentation. Depending on instrumentation and user preference there are several categories of user/staff participation: User walk-up, user operation (after training by staff), full service by the center’s Staff, and collaborative projects where the investigator and the Center staff partner in experimental design, experimentation, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
