Surface Antigen Quantification
By using graduated solutions of microbeads with known amounts of fluorophore. Comparisons can be made to populations with identical fluorophores bound to antigens. Quantification can be done due to the fact that mean fluorescent intesity of a cell population labeled with a fluorophore conjugated to antibodies is linearly related to the mean number of binding sites per cell.
